Allen Howard Weisselberg (born August 15, 1947) is the chief financial officer (CFO)

of The Trump Organization. Weisselberg also serves as a co-trustee of a trust set up in

2017 by Donald J. Trump before Trump's inauguration as President of the United States.

Early life

Weisselberg was born to a Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Brownsville.

He went to Thomas Jefferson High School and received

an accounting degree from Pace University in 1970.

Career

Following college, Weisselberg worked as an accountant for real estate magnate Fred Trump

in the 1970s. By the late 1980s, he was controller of the organization and worked under

CFO Stephen Bollenbach. In 2000, Weisselberg was named chief financial officer and

Vice President of Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts. He also served as treasurer of the

Donald J. Trump Foundation, and has handled the household expenses of the Trump family.

Along with Donald Trump, he is one of two trustees of a New York-based

revocable trust that in turn owns DT Connect Member Corp.

On January 11, 2017, shortly before Donald Trump Sr.'s inauguration as President of

the United States, the Trump Organization announced that Weisselberg would manage

the company along with Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. during Trump's presidency.

A summary of trust arrangements dated February 10, 2018, lists Weisselberg and

Donald Trump Jr. as trustees and Eric Trump as an adviser. The summary also indicated that,

as trustees, only Weisselberg and Trump Jr. knew the details of the trust's finances.

Michael Cohen, Trump's personal lawyer at the start of his presidency, said that

Weisselberg had arranged for the Trump Organization to pay Cohen $35,000 a month to

reimburse him for hush money Trump had asked Cohen to pay adult film actress Stormy Daniels

weeks before the 2016 election to keep her from talking about an affair she had had with Trump.

In July 2018 Weisselberg was subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury regarding

the Cohen investigation. Weisselberg was granted limited witness immunity for his testimony.

Personal life

Weisselberg lived in Nassau County on Long Island as of 2005.^[3] He appeared as a

judge on the seventh episode of the second season of The Apprentice.^[13] His son,

Jack Weisselberg, is a loan-origination executive at Ladder Capital,

which has acted as a lender to the Trump Organization.^[14][15]

addressed the American Israel Public Affairs Committee

Monday, discussing relations between the U.S. and Israel. A complete transcript of his remarks follows.

TRUMP: Good evening. Thank you very much.

I speak to you today as a lifelong supporter and true friend of Israel. (CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

I am a newcomer to politics, but not to backing the Jewish state.

(APPLAUSE)

In 2001, weeks after the attacks on New York City and on Washington and, frankly, the attacks on all of us,

attacks that perpetrated and they were perpetrated by the Islamic fundamentalists,

Mayor Rudy Giuliani visited Israel to show solidarity with terror victims.

I sent my plane because I backed the mission for Israel 100 percent.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

In spring of 2004 at the height of the violence in the Gaza Strip, I was the grand marshal of the 40th Salute to Israel Parade,

the largest-single gathering in support of the Jewish state.

(APPLAUSE)

It was a very dangerous time for Israel and frankly for anyone supporting Israel.

Many people turned down this honor. I did not. I took the risk and I’m glad I did.

(APPLAUSE)

But I didn’t come here tonight to pander to you about Israel.

That’s what politicians do: all talk, no action. Believe me.

I came here to speak to you about where I stand on the future of American relations with our strategic ally,

our unbreakable friendship and our cultural brother, the only democracy in the Middle East, the state of Israel.

My number-one priority is to dismantle the disastrous deal with Iran.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

Thank you. Thank you.

I have been in business a long time. I know deal-making. And let me tell you,

this deal is catastrophic for America, for Israel and for the whole of the Middle East.

 (APPLAUSE)

The problem here is fundamental. We’ve rewarded the world’s leading state sponsor of terror with $150 billion,

and we received absolutely nothing in return.

(APPLAUSE)

I’ve studied this issue in great detail, I would say actually greater by far than anybody else.

(LAUGHTER)

Believe me. Oh, believe me. And it’s a bad deal.

The biggest concern with the deal is not necessarily that Iran is going to violate it because already, you know, as you know, it has,

the bigger problem is that they can keep the terms and still get the bomb by simply running out the clock.

And of course, they’ll keep the billions and billions of dollars that we so stupidly and foolishly gave them.

(APPLAUSE)

The deal doesn’t even require Iran to dismantle its military nuclear capability. Yes, it places limits on its military

nuclear program for only a certain number of years, but when those restrictions expire, Iran will have an industrial-sized,

military nuclear capability ready to go and with zero provision for delay, no matter how bad

Iran’s behavior is. Terrible, terrible situation that we are all placed in and especially Israel.

(APPLAUSE)

When I’m president, I will adopt a strategy that focuses on three things when it comes to Iran.

First, we will stand up to Iran’s aggressive push to destabilize and dominate the region.

(APPLAUSE)

Iran is a very big problem and will continue to be. But if I’m not elected president,

I know how to deal with trouble. And believe me, that’s why I’m going to be elected president, folks.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

And we are leading in every poll. Remember that, please.

(CHEERS)

Iran is a problem in Iraq, a problem in Syria, a problem in Lebanon, a problem in Yemen and will be a very,

very major problem for Saudi Arabia. Literally every day, Iran provides more and better weapons to support their puppet states.

Hezbollah, Lebanon received — and I’ll tell you what, it has received sophisticated anti-ship weapons,

anti-aircraft weapons and GPS systems and rockets like very few people anywhere in the world and certainly very few countries have.

Now they’re in Syria trying to establish another front against Israel from the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.

In Gaza, Iran is supporting Hamas and Islamic jihad.

And in the West Bank, they’re openly offering Palestinians $7,000 per terror attack and $30,000

for every Palestinian terrorist’s home that’s been destroyed. A deplorable, deplorable situation.

(APPLAUSE)

Iran is financing military forces throughout the Middle East and it’s absolutely incredible that we

handed them over $150 billion to do even more toward the many horrible acts of terror.

(APPLAUSE)

Secondly, we will totally dismantle Iran’s global terror network which is big and powerful, but not powerful like us.

(APPLAUSE)

Iran has seeded terror groups all over the world. During the last five years, Iran has perpetuated terror attacks in

25 different countries on five continents. They’ve got terror cells everywhere, i

ncluding in the Western Hemisphere, very close to home.

Iran is the biggest sponsor of terrorism around the world.

And we will work to dismantle that reach, believe me, believe me.

(APPLAUSE)

Third, at the very least, we must enforce the terms of the previous deal to hold Iran totally accountable.

And we will enforce it like you’ve never seen a contract enforced before, folks, believe me.

(APPLAUSE)

Iran has already, since the deal is in place, test-fired ballistic missiles three times.

Those ballistic missiles, with a range of 1,250 miles, were designed to intimidate not only Israel,

which is only 600 miles away, but also intended to frighten Europe and someday maybe hit even the United States.

And we’re not going to let that happen. We’re not letting it happen.

And we’re not letting it happen to Israel, believe me.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

Do you want to hear something really shocking? As many of the great people in this room know, painted on those

missiles in both Hebrew and Farsi were the words “Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth.” You can forget that.

(APPLAUSE)

What kind of demented minds write that in Hebrew?

And here’s another. You talk about twisted. Here’s another twisted part. Testing these missiles does not even violate

the horrible deal that we’ve made. The deal is silent on test missiles.

But those tests do violate the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The problem is no one has done anything about it. We will, we will. I promise, we will.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

Which brings me to my next point, the utter weakness and incompetence of the United Nations.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

The United Nations is not a friend of democracy, it’s not a friend to freedom, it’s not a friend even to the

United States of America where, as you know, it has its home. And it surely is not a friend to Israel.

(APPLAUSE)

With President Obama in his final year — yea!

He may be the worst thing to ever happen to Israel, believe me, believe me.

And you know it and you know it better than anybody.

So with the president in his final year, discussions have been swirling about an attempt to bring a

Security Council resolution on terms of an eventual agreement between Israel and Palestine.

Let me be clear: An agreement imposed by the United Nations would be a total and complete disaster.

(APPLAUSE)

The United States must oppose this resolution and use the power of our veto,

which I will use as president 100 percent.

(APPLAUSE)

When people ask why, it’s because that’s not how you make a deal. Deals are made when parties come together,

they come to a table and they negotiate. Each side must give up something. It’s values.

I mean, we have to do something where there’s value in exchange for something that it requires.

That’s what a deal is. A deal is really something that when we impose it on Israel and Palestine,

we bring together a group of people that come up with something.

That’s not going to happen with the United Nations. It will only further, very importantly,

it will only further delegitimize Israel. It will be a catastrophe and a disaster for Israel. It’s not going to happen, folks.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

And further, it would reward Palestinian terrorism because every day they’re stabbing Israelis and even Americans.

Just last week, American Taylor Allen Force, a West Point grad, phenomenal young person who served in Iraq and Afghanistan,

was murdered in the street by a knife-wielding Palestinian. You don’t reward behavior like that. You cannot do it.

(APPLAUSE)

There’s only one way you treat that kind of behavior. You have to confront it.

(APPLAUSE)

So it’s not up to the United Nations to really go with a solution.

It’s really the parties that must negotiate a resolution themselves.

They have no choice. They have to do it themselves or it will never hold up anyway.

The United States can be useful as a facilitator of negotiations, but no one should be telling

Israel that it must be and really that it must abide by some agreement made by others thousands

of miles away that don’t even really know what’s happening to Israel,

to anything in the area. It’s so preposterous, we’re not going to let that happen.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

When I’m president, believe me, I will veto any attempt by the U.N.

to impose its will on the Jewish state. It will be vetoed 100 percent.

You see, I know about deal-making. That’s what I do. I wrote “The Art of the Deal.”

That’s right. Israel has been trying to sit down at the negotiating table without preconditions for years.

You had Camp David in 2000 where Prime Minister Barak made an incredible offer,

maybe even too generous; Arafat rejected it.

In 2008, Prime Minister Olmert made an equally generous offer.

The Palestinian Authority rejected it also.

Then John Kerry tried to come up with a framework and Abbas didn’t even respond,

not even to the secretary of state of the United States of America. They didn’t even respond.

When I become president, the days of treating

Israel like a second-class citizen will end on day one.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

And when I say something, I mean it, I mean it.

I will meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu immediately. I have known him for many years and we’ll

be able to work closely together to help bring stability and peace to Israel and to the entire region.

Meanwhile, every single day you have rampant incitement and

children being taught to hate Israel and to hate the Jews. It has to stop.

When you live in a society where the firefighters are the heroes, little kids want to be firefighters.

When you live in a society where athletes and movie stars are the heroes, little kids want to be athletes and movie stars.

In Palestinian society, the heroes are those who murder Jews.

We can’t let this continue. We can’t let this happen any longer.

You cannot achieve peace if terrorists are treated as martyrs. Glorifying terrorists is a tremendous barrier to peace.

It is a horrible, horrible way to think. It’s a barrier that can’t be broken. That will end and it’ll end soon, believe me.

In Palestinian textbooks and mosques, you’ve got a culture of hatred that has been fomenting there for years.

And if we want to achieve peace, they’ve got to go out and they’ve got to start this educational process.

They have to end education of hatred. They have to end it and now.

(APPLAUSE)

There is no moral equivalency. Israel does not name public squares after terrorists.

Israel does not pay its children to stab random Palestinians.

You see, what President Obama gets wrong about deal-making is that he

constantly applies pressure to our friends and rewards our enemies.

(CHEERS, APPLAUSE)

And you see that happening all the time, that pattern practiced by the president and his administration,

including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is a total disaster, by the way.

(LAUGHTER)

She and President Obama have treated Israel very, very badly.

(APPLAUSE)

But it’s repeated itself over and over again and has done nothing (to) embolden those who hate America.

We saw that with releasing the $150 billion to Iran in the hope that they would magically join the world community. It didn’t happen.

(APPLAUSE)

President Obama thinks that applying pressure to Israel will force the issue. But it’s precisely the opposite that happens.

Already half of the population of Palestine has been taken over by the Palestinian ISIS and Hamas, and the other half

refuses to confront the first half, so it’s a very difficult situation that’s never going to get solved

unless you have great leadership right here in the United States.

We’ll get it solved. One way or the other, we will get it solved.

But when the United States stands with Israel, the chances of peace really rise and rises exponentially.

That’s what will happen when Donald Trump is president of the United States.

We will move the American embassy to the eternal capital of the Jewish people, Jerusalem.

And we will send a clear signal that there is no daylight between America and our most reliable ally, the state of Israel.

The Palestinians must come to the table knowing that the bond

between the United States and Israel is absolutely, totally unbreakable.

They must come to the table willing and able to stop the terror being committed on a daily basis against Israel. They must do that.

And they must come to the table willing to accept that Israel is a Jewish state and it will forever exist as a Jewish state.

of my greatest honors from Israel, my father before me, incredible. My daughter, Ivanka, is about to have a beautiful Jewish baby.

Now we see that President Trump has transparently broken every major campaign promise that he made OVER and OVER and OVER again like the “Energizer Bunny” during the 2016 election cycle.

Not only has he broken every single promise, he has actually gone in the opposite direction of the most important ones such as his promise to make peace, not war.

If there’s one dead giveaway that proves that Trump is a total fraud, it’s his extraordinary commitment to MIGA.  As a matter of historical fact, no other president in U.S. history has gone so far out of their way to “Make Israel Great Again”.  There’s not even a close second, even though crypto-Jewish President Lyndon B. There’s no question that Donald Trump’s decadent lifestyle – to this very day – has contributed majorly to his failed presidency.  Anyone who eats at MacDonald every other day — at 73 years old especially —  is setting themselves up for a HUGE fall…into the grave.  And yet this is the least of his bad habits.

For the uninitiated, you become like the company you keep.  If you hang with thieves you become a thief; conversely, if you congregate with saints you will eventually become a saint.  In Trump’s case, it’s clear from the foul characters he has surrounded himself with in the Executive Branch that he really likes the bad actors.  Just look at the list of warmongers posted above.  When the entire administration is comprised of murderers, thieves, torturers and other maniacal sociopaths, what can the body politic expect?!  The crux of the matter is that they all reflect the highly flawed character of President Trump.  And, the resulting mayhem and strife prove it.

Perhaps his greatest Achilles’s heel was exposed in Trump’s preoccupation with his gambling casinos.  This business can turn even a saint into a sinner in a Vegas moment.  The mob has always controlled gambling in America if for no other reason than to launder vast amounts of drug money, human trafficking money and illegal arms trafficking money.  You simply can’t run a casino without being deeply involved in these and other illicit businesses such as prostitution, fencing and extortion.

What’s of paramount importance to comprehend is that Trump is really not in his right mind.  He refused to release his medical records because of the powerful prescription drugs that he regularly takes for years.  Between his unusually bad diet and the toxic meds, Donald Trump has clearly been pushed into an early-onset dementia profile of which he may be totally unaware.  His famous lack of proper sleep only further exacerbates this serious problem [FOR THE COUNTRY] as seen by his 3:00 AM tweets that send the stock market shooting up or crashing down.  WOW ! ! !

One last essential point is that Trump is no friend of the environment or health advocacy.  His shocking disregard for the Earth is displayed by his obsessive desire to sell LNG around the globe while tearing up the American landscape with fracking and other highly destructive shale gas extraction methods.  He then forces other countries to buy our expensive natural gas when they can acquire it much cheaper from sources much closer than the USA.

Trump also recently deregulated GMO agriculture for Big Agra and even he speaks about the need to receive regular vaccinations in spite of his son Barron showing signs of vaccine-induced autism.  His serial flip-flopping on so many similar similar issues indicates no commitment to health or a clean environment which will ultimately be his undoing.  His corrupt EPA Administrators have been anything but protective of the fragile environment but rather full-time lobbyists for Corporate America.  But, hey, don’t even think of upsetting the posh and perfect atmosphere at Mar-a-lago.  After all, Palm Beach, Florida is conveniently exempt from 5G wireless law while Trump fervently hard-sells 5G everywhere else.

Trump’s disastrous foreign policy

From the very beginning, President’s Trump’s foreign policy has been ruinous for the USA. Not only has it wrecked America’s international relations with friends and foes alike, the whole world has been plunged into a state of unparalleled chaos and conflict.  In this particular regard, Trump fully deserves his moniker—the WRECKING BALL

Team Trump knows only one method—gunboat diplomacy, as though “might makes right”.  Trump’s War Cabinet has taken American exceptionalism to new levels of hubris and imperialism.  It’s as though Trump’s masters have given him strict orders to enforce Pax Americana at the barrel of a gun or through war-triggering economic sanctions.  Exactly who are his masters and where are they located?  Chicago?

Broken Promises by President Trump

What follows is a list of some of the broken promises and failed policies that have occurred on Trump’s watch:

The last Spending Bill was a HUGE political disaster for Trump as it was a catastrophe for the American people.  The Military-Industrial Complex as always was the BIG winner.

The National Debt has ballooned under Trump.  It’s now well over $21,000,000,000,000!  The US Govt borrowed over $1 trillion in 2018 and much more in 2019.

Trillion Dollar Budget Deficits are returning according to the CBO.

Trade Deficits are also hitting a 10-year high.

The so-called ‘successful’ Tax Bill was mainly a giveaway to Corporate America and the super wealthy.  The rich and powerful will only get richer from that Democrat-approved legislation.   Really, why would the Democrats ever give Trump a legislative win unless their own unconscionable enrichment was guaranteed.

Obamacare was not repealed even with Republican majorities in both chambers.  Why not?  And now we’re stuck with it forever because of Trump’s willful incompetence.

The Border Wall remains as elusive today as it was when Trump first promised it.  He really has no intention of building a wall or a fence or anything…and never did!

The DACA debate remains just that—a debate.  There’s been no real movement.

As for federal Immigration Policy, almost every Trump executive order has been thwarted.  He floats measures that are destined to fail… … …by purposeful design.

As for Abortion, not only is the criminal Planned Parenthood abortion factory still up and running, Infanticide-permitting laws are now approved in states both large and small.

Next, there is President Trump’s Gun Control, and the right to bear arms.  Yes, he’s already foisting his own version of gun control stealthily on the nation.  For instance, Trump directed AG Sessions to craft a new federal policy that was quietly restrictive.  The right to purchase bump stocks has been revoked; so have silencers been shut down.  Even the age allowed to buy assault weapons has been raised, but they can still go to war.  There are other serious gun control measures in the works that have not yet been put out by the POTUS but we’ve heard his strong support of the state’s Red Flag Laws.

Draining the swamp was the most important promise that Trump made — REPEATEDLY — during the 2016 election cycle.  “Lock her up!” was his campaign mantra that compelled many to get on the Trump train that is now a out-an-out train wreck.  Not only did he not lock up Hillary, she’s out and about stomping the campaign circuit as though she’s running for POTUS in 2020.  Only Trump associates have been arrested, prosecuted, convicted and incarcerated for crimes they did not even commit.  Meanwhile, the self-incriminated coup plotters and obvious traitors are still on the loose conducting their soft coup.  Quite UNBELIEVABLE ! ! !

Contrary to draining the swamp, the Trump administration has aggressively gone after the most courageous whistleblowers of our times such as Julian Assange.  Trump’s DoJ has promised to put Assange behind bars for the rest of his natural life (Remember, without WikiLeaks Trump would have lost 2016).  Furthermore, Trump has only tweeted about the countless and profound violations of the Second Amendment where it is conservatives — exclusively — who are illicitly censored, never liberals.  His stunning lack of executive action in this regard is as reprehensible as it is despicable (as long as Trump still has his own Twitter account he cares not a whit about the intensifying censorship of the Right).

Many on the Right now correctly perceive that Trump’s promises were all fake.  Just like “fake news”, Trump promised the world knowing he could not deliver on them but thoroughly understanding they would get him elected.  And so they did.

Of course, his hidden sponsors pulling his strings and funding his campaign told him straight up: You can do whatever you want domestically as long as you give Israel free rein in the Middle East.  And so he has… right up until today with this new development about his surreptitiously planned war with Iran.

Trump’s 9/11 Betrayal

Donald Trump blatantly lied during the 2016 campaign by talking about the “dancing Muslims” who were photographed on September 11, 2001 capturing video of the burning Twin Towers.  They were not Muslims as the historical record proves, they were Israelis who knew about the terrorist attacks well in advance.  They also knew that it was a cruise missile launched by the U.S. military that penetrated the Pentagon, not American Airlines Flight 77.

Trump also went from indicting the Saudis for their integral role in financing the 9/11 black operation during his campaign to making them his closest friends.  His outright (and unlawful) support of the Saudi war on Yemen created the worst humanitarian disaster of the Third Millennium.  That shift in policy only occurred with the uncompromising demand (read: coercion) of the Apartheid State of Israel who has since made common cause with the tyrannical KSA monarchy.

Trump also surrounded himself with the biggest Neocon Zionist movers and shakers who were directly behind the 9/11 attacks.  Mayor Rudy Giuliani was, in fact, the New York City point man for both the stealthy controlled demolitions of World Trade Centers 1, 2 and 7, as well as the multiple ongoing cover-ups. The bottom line regarding 9/11 truth is that Trump knows that many of his closest NYC friends were intimately involved in the 9/11 false flag operation.  Many of these covert perpetrators were the actual brains and brawn that pulled it off.  And, there are photos on the Internet that clearly show just how chummy Trump is with these criminally insane psychopaths.

Trump was not elected President of the United States of America, Jared Kushner was.

“Trump is parroting Zionist doctrine:
U.S. Jews must be loyal to Israel.”

The Jewish community has good reason to be disturbed by Trump’s assertion that the Jews who vote Democratic and not for him (the vast majority) are “disloyal.” We can only imagine how his comments will affect nationalist wingnuts who already think Jews are “replacing” them.

WHY  CALL  HIM  A  LIAR WHEN HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH?

But the allegation by many Jewish organizations and individuals that Trump is echoing an antisemitic European trope of the disloyal, transnational Jew, rings hollow. Trump has no idea about that history. Trump has heard that Jews who criticize Israel are disloyal from his own dear Jewish friends, rightwing Zionists, everyone from Sheldon Adelson to David Friedman to Elliott Abrams to Alan Dershowitz.

If there’s a trope here, it’s the Zionist claim that Jews must be loyal to Israel, no matter where they live.

Bari Weiss (pictured) says so directly in the NY Times: “If you’re pro-Trump or Trump-curious,” she allows, “you’ll generously hear an assertion that Jews should be loyal to Israel.” She hastens to add, “If you’re anything like me, you can’t help but hear echoes of the sinister charge of dual loyalty.”

But Weiss has just made my point for me, generously: It’s a good thing to say that American Jews should be loyal to Israel.

Weiss stated the same principle in a forum after the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre last year. We are all one, Am Yisrael, the people of Israel– from leftwing Jews to rightwing Israeli Jews.

“Our values are other things than civil rights… Our values are also the fact that we are alive for the Jewish return to political sovereignty– the idea that we would celebrate that! … Even among the Jews who were showing up [in Pittsburgh] for [leftwing groups] IfNotNow and Bend the Arc and protesting Trump – you better believe they liked the fact that Ron Dermer and Naftali Bennett showed up… It’s sending a message that we are all one, Am Yisrael.”

The young Jews of IfNotNow promptly scoffed at Weiss’s claim; they felt no affinity to rightwing Israelis Dermer and Bennett. But Weiss just laid out a central tenet of Zionism. There is a Jewish nation. We are loyal to the countries that we live in but we have a higher loyalty to the Jewish one. And by the way, the center of Jewish life is Israel, where the Jewish nation regained sovereignty in the 20th century.

Elliott Abrams, a Trump foreign policy aide, laid out the same principle in 1996:

Outside the land of Israel, there can be no doubt that Jews, faithful to the covenant between God and Abraham, are to stand apart from the nation in which they live. It is the very nature of being Jewish to be apart–except in Israel–from the rest of the population.

Melvin Urofsky laid out the same idea– American Jews must be loyal to the Jewish state– in his Zionist history, “We Are One! American Jewry and Israel” (1978).

An old Hebrew maxim holds that Klal Yisrael arevim zeh lazeh–All of Israel are responsible for one another–a statement which affirms the unity of the Jewish people, a sense of historical oneness transcending temporal or spatial differences of nationality, language and customs. In the United States, this old saying has taken on a new form: “We Are One!” … [I]t celebrates those ties that bind, those patterns which have emerged not only out of four thousand years of Jewish history and culture and tradition, but also out of the twentieth-century struggle for Jewish survival and for the re-creation of a Jewish state in its ancient homeland.

Let me inject that all these Zionists extol Zionism because it will keep Jews from marrying non-Jews. Urofsky:

There has been and continues to be hope that Israel will provide the ballast keeping Judaism in America stable, an anchor holding fast against the strong currents of assimilation…

Bari Weiss calls assimilation “self-mutilation”:

We are increasingly a people apart. Which self-mutilation, so many of us wonder, is worse? Abandon the universal values our community has always championed? Or abandon the particularism without which we cease to be Jews at all?

The main thrust of this ideology, though, is what Trump is saying: American Jews need to support Israel in the United States, because Israel depends on the U.S. as a lifeline.

And if you don’t support Israel, you’re a self-hating Jew, or a bad Jew. As I noted yesterday, Alan Dershowitz smeared an eminent South African Judge, Richard Goldstone, as an “evil, evil man” and a “moser” — a traitor– because he had accused Israel of war crimes. Goldstone was then pressured not to attend his own grandson’s bar mitzvah, because his community in South Africa was so angry.

Zionist ideologue Ben Shapiro makes Trump’s point:

The Jewish people have always been plagued by bad Jews who undermine it from within. In America, those bad Jews always vote Democrat.

Batya Ungar-Sargon of the Forward put it well last year: “Trump was saying the messaging that we have been telegraphing for 50 years.”

Ungar-Sargon was responding to that occasion in 2017 that Trump was asked by a Jewish reporter about the government’s failure to respond to an uptick in threats against Jewish institutions. Trump got angry. I love Israel!

According to Jared Kushner, Donald Trump lied to his Republican base and thought they were so stupid they would believe it.

She hastened to assure her synagogue audience, “We are all Zionists! But now we can criticize Israel, a little bit anyway. I think 95 percent of the American Jewish community is pro Israel. We are all still pro Israel. What we are not is willing to give it unconditional support… You can be pro Israel and criticize Israel, that is what it means to be an American Jew. We are no longer willing to give unconditional support.”

All this indoctrination has worked. Here’s Bret Stephens of the New York Times saying a lot of American Jews are bad Jews because they’re not supporting Israel:

Thank God I was born a Jew because otherwise I’d be a raging anti-Semite… [be]cause I tear my hair out all the time at my fellow Jews… it is a scandal, it seems to me, if we fail to live up to the promise of our American citizenship to do all we can to assure the survival of the Jewish state and the Jewish people.

Sheldon Adelson, Trump’s biggest donor, has called himself an Israeli citizen and said that he wished he had fought in the Israeli army, not the American one.

Another of Trump’s biggest donors, Bernie Marcus says American Jews need to support Israel unconditionally because it’s the center of Jewish life:

We’re so proud of the fact that Israel is here and Israel is now THE place for Jews and the place that we have to look for, and I now do everything in my power to help the state of Israel. And anything I can do I will do because it’s good for Jews all over the world.

While rightwing Zionist Irving Kristol anticipated Trump more than 40 years ago when he called on Jews to stop voting Democratic, because there was now a Jewish “interest” in having big U.S. defense budgets to keep the “knife” from the “heart of Israel.”

Senator McGovern is very sincere when he says that he will try to cut the military budget by 30%. And this is to drive a knife in the heart of Israel… Jews don’t like big military budgets. But it is now an interest of the Jews to have a large and powerful military establishment in the United States… American Jews who care about the survival of the state of Israel have to say, no, we don’t want to cut the military budget, it is important to keep that military budget big, so that we can defend Israel.

All of this indoctrination has worked out in some bad ways. Kristol’s son Bill has said he won’t criticize Israel because he has a desk job while those Jews are on the front lines.

Bernard Marcus says that Israeli Jews are superior to American Jews.

The state of Israel was formed and they weren’t like the other Jews, they fought, they didn’t walk into the ghettos and the concentration camp… into the ovens. Israelis would have killed every soldier that was guarding them…I heard [Holocaust] stories about 15 soldiers guarding 1000 people… Now the Israelis have said we will never… allow that again, we will fight to the last man. That’s why Israel is so strong…

Even liberal Zionist Batya Ungar-Sargon says she is “grateful” to those militaristic Israeli Jews for restoring American Jewish pride in 1967.

Jews… were still sort of like a hated minority in America and saw themselves that way, as sort of like this weak, stooped– you know they could still see that image reflected at them from WASPs, and there was the Six Day War, and suddenly it was like, Oh my gosh, we had this like, really really strong cool cousin. You know and it was like, If you beat me up, my cousin is going to come over here and mess you up! You know, and it was like, it gave us back something we didn’t have for millennia, which is national pride.

So it won’t surprise you to hear what happened to liberal Zionist journalist Leonard Fein when he dared to say in the 1970s that rightwing Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin was lying about settlements:

The reporter from the Post [asked] “are you calling Begin a liar?” I said, “Use whatever word you want, that’s all I have to say.” The next day, front page, Jerusalem Post, “American Professor calls Begin a liar.” And my roof fell in. I depended on wealthy liberal Jews to support Moment magazine. Money was withdrawn right and left from its support…

Benjamin Netanyahu called on that same loyalty to a rightwing Israeli prime minister in 2015 when he urged American Jews, left and right, to rally against Barack Obama’s Iran deal. We are one people, he said, and after the Holocaust we got our shit together thanks to Israel:

It wasn’t long ago, certainly not that long ago, that the Jewish people were either incapable or unwilling to speak out in the face of mortal threats, and this had devastating consequences. I’ve been very clear – the days when the Jewish people could not or would not speak up for themselves, those days are over. Today we can speak out. Today we must speak out. Senator Chuck Schumer then voted against the deal and told a Jewish audience that he did so because of the “threat to Israel.” P.S. Schumer ends his speeches at the Israel lobby group AIPAC by proclaiming, ala Bari Weiss, Am Yisrael Chai. The people of Israel live!

Jeffrey Goldberg heard Netanyahu and said that J Street was stabbing Israel in the back by supporting the Iran deal.

And Trump’s good friend and bankruptcy lawyer David Friedman called J Street “kapos” — Nazi collaborators. He’s now the ambassador to Israel. Friedman’s voice is in Trump’s ear.

Sorry to go on so long. But this is an inherent problem in Zionism. The Jewish state asserts that all Jews are members of the Jewish nation no matter where they live, that nation was reborn in Israel in 1948, and Jews in other nations have a duty to support Israel– especially in the U.S., because U.S. support is an existential issue for Israel. So you’re a self-hating Jew if you don’t support Israel.

Donald Trump has heard that doctrine from his rightwing Zionist friends, and he’s parroted it.

It is undoubtedly true that the vast majority of politicians are liars. Some, however, are more prolific liars than others. And any honest, objective, even semi-intelligent person knows that Donald Trump takes the blue ribbon in the lying game. He lies so much, he can’t even play a game of golf without cheating.

In a column dated August 10, 2017, I wrote a piece entitled The Truth About Donald Trump. In the column I documented the truth about Trump’s lifetime conduct. In short:

*Donald Trump spent his entire adult life scamming people out of billions of dollars.

Trump’s seven bankruptcies (which he brags about) cost investors, employees and consumers multiplied billions of dollars. Doug Heller, the executive director of Consumer Watchdog, said Trump is the "most egregious, almost comical example" of the disparity between what the average American faces when going through bankruptcy and the "ease with which the very rich can move in and out of bankruptcy."

*Donald Trump spent his entire adult life as a perverse philanderer and miserable misogynist.

I documented what I could on this subject in the column referenced above. The full account of Trump’s lifelong moral debauchery could not even be reported in polite company. In short, Trump is a sick moral reprobate of the lowest order.

*Donald Trump spent his entire business life consorting with international crime syndicates and the Jewish mafia.

1. Trump promised to put Hillary Clinton in jail.

On the campaign trail, Trump talked about putting Hillary in jail in just about every city in which he held a rally. But after becoming President, Trump has gushed all over Bill and Hillary, calling them “good friends” and saying they are “good people.” Of course, what he’s said since becoming President IS true. He and the Clintons are good friends. They have been good friends for almost a lifetime. The “good people” part, of course, is just another lousy lie.

2. Trump promised to drain the swamp in Washington, D.C.

But after becoming President, Donald Trump’s administration is almost a carbon copy of G.W. Bush’s globalist insiders. Trump’s appointment of CFR and Bilderberg swamp creatures matches those of Bush or Obama. 3. Trump promised to reduce deficit spending.

What a crock of bull manure that promise was! Trump and his fellow Republicans have exploded federal spending and federal deficits to records never seen before. Plus, Trump has superintended over another serious stock bubble that most economists predict is nearing another crash.

4. Trump said that government vaccinations of small children should “stop now,” rightly linking vaccinations to certain diseases such as autism (and even death).

Now, Trump tells parents that their children “have to get shots.” He repeated: “They have to get their shots.”

5. Donald Trump promised to get America out of these infernal, incessant foreign wars.

Talk about a whopper of a lie! Trump never intended to stop America’s foreign wars.

As I have noted several times in this column:

Trump has dropped more bombs and missiles on Middle Eastern countries in a comparable period of time than any modern U.S. President. Presidents Bush, Obama and now [2017] Trump have dropped nearly 200,000 bombs and missiles on Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia. Trump’s rate of bombing eclipses both Bush and Obama; and Trump is on a pace to drop over 100,000 000 to be precise bombs and missiles on Middle Eastern countries during his first term of office—which would equal the number of bombs and missiles dropped by Obama during his entire eight-year presidency.

Here’s more perspective:

The United States Government, under the Trump administration, reportedly drops a bomb every 12 minutes, which means that 121 bombs are dropped in a day, and 44,096 bombs per year. The Pentagon’s data show that during George W. Bush’s eight years he averaged 24 bombs dropped per day, that is, 8,750 per year. Over the course of Obama’s time in office, his military dropped 34 bombs per day, 12,500 per year. This shows that even though American presidents are all war criminals, Trump is the most vicious of them all.

As I said:

Trump is dropping almost FOUR TIMES MORE BOMBS than Barack Obama and over FIVE TIMES MORE BOMBS than G.W. Bush—which included military invasions of two countries.  

We also know that Trump expanded America’s wars in Afghanistan and Syria (and, no, he is NOT bringing U.S. troops home from Syria) and is ramping up America’s war machine against Venezuela, Somalia, China and Russia. And this does not even take into account the way Trump has given Benjamin Netanyahu’s raunchy racist regime the green light to expand its wars against the Palestinians, Lebanon, Syria and Iran or the U.S./Israeli proxy war (with Saudi Arabia taking the lead) in Yemen.

Now, Donald Trump is escalating a U.S. war in Iran.

On Tuesday the US military announced that B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers will be deployed to the Middle East in response to what US Acting Secretary of Defence Patrick Shanahan dubbed "indications of a credible threat by Iranian regime forces." (Source)

“Credible threat” to whom? Does anyone actually believe that Iran poses a “credible threat” to the United States? What a farce! The truth is, Israel has been itching for a war with Iran for almost forever. But typical of the bullying apartheid Zionist State, Israel knows it cannot take on Iran unless the U.S. brings in military assistance. Hence, the Zionist toady Donald Trump is ratcheting up a U.S. war with Iran. Yep! This is just another war for Israel, folks.

Vice President Mike Pence wasn’t kidding when he told attendees at the recent AIPAC convention: “Her [Israel’s] fight is OUR fight.” Really, Mike? Tell me, when did the American

people get to vote on THAT? And please tell me, Mike, where did you find THAT in the Constitution that you took an oath to preserve, protect and defend?

National Security Advisor John Bolton (CFR) and Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan (CFR) reportedly now have a plan in place to send120,000 U.S. ground forces to Iran’s doorstep. Donald Trump is inching toward military confrontation with Iran.

6. Donald Trump emphatically promised to build a wall on the U.S./Mexican border, which Mexico would pay for.

This is one promise I am glad he hasn’t kept. I AM ALL FOR STOPPING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. But I do NOT like border walls. I agree with Ron Paul: The same walls that ostensibly are used to keep people out can also be used to keep people IN. Plus, unless the United States is prepared to put military snipers and machine gunners on and around the walls (like Israel does), they do not work.

But Trump’s lie is not simply about the wall; it is about the entire phony façade that he truly wants to stop illegal immigration. It’s all a BIG, FAT LIE, folks.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) recently reported the stark truth about Donald Trump’s record on illegal immigration. And like most of the things, the truth is exactly opposite Trump’s rhetoric. ALIPAC produced a factual record of Trump’s immigration policies.

ALIPAC documents how Trump hasn’t reduced legal immigration levels like he said he would; instead he has raised them. That Trump promised to stop illegal caravans, but instead he has allowed them to enter the U.S.—and has even supplied transportation for many of these illegals, at taxpayer expense, of course. That Trump promised to end Obama’s DACA amnesty, but he has NOT ended DACA. That he promised to oppose amnesty for illegals, but he and son-in-law Jared Kushner have cut a deal with Democrats to actually INCREASE the number of illegals receiving amnesty. That he promised to end birthright citizenship, but hasn’t done it. That he promised to end sanctuary cities, but hasn’t done it. That Trump promised to end the catch-and-release of illegals. But not only has he not ended the practice, he has INCREASED the practice.

With lifelong Democrats like Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump running the show in the White House and espousing plans to run for President as Democrats one day it makes many of us wonder... 7. Trump said he would release documents investigating 9/11.

Of course, that was another one of Trump’s monster fibs. He knows 9/11 was not carried out by 19 Muslim hijackers. He knows that his Jewish Mafia buddies were neck-deep in the 9/11 conspiracy. Trump never intended to investigate 9/11. It was all a ruse to fool conservatives and get elected.

8. Donald Trump said he “loved” government whistleblower Julian Assange and called WikiLeaks “amazing.”

Now that Assange has been arrested by British authorities after Ecuador stripped him of his political asylum and his citizenship was suspended, Trump declared, “I know nothing about WikiLeaks. It’s not my thing.” And you watch: Trump is going to sit back and let the U.S. government and its allies in Europe torture and murder Assange for having the guts to blow the whistle on the U.S. government’s illegal spying on the American people.

Speaking of which…when it came to illegal government spying on the American people, Trump actually DID keep his word. But it’s not a good thing. He told us during his presidential campaign in 2016 that he fully intended to maintain—and even expand—the federal government’s illegal spying on U.S. citizens. And he has definitely kept that promise.

Under Donald Trump, America’s burgeoning Police State is growing faster than ever.  Under Trump, the IRS is not only a tax-gathering agency; it is a spy agency. I could spend almost forever on this point.

9. Trump promised the American people that he would be the greatest Pro-Second Amendment President the country has ever seen.

Since becoming President, however, Donald Trump has foisted more gun-control laws on the American people than Barack Obama.

Trump signed the worthless “bump-stock” ban into law. Trump repeatedly says that he is open to siding with Democrats in supporting additional gun control legislation. Plus, Trump is enthusiastically championing (along with Republicans Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham) one of the most—if not THE MOST—dangerous, draconian and downright Stalinesque gun-control laws to ever be proposed in the United States: “red flag” gun confiscation laws.

Since Trump’s emphatic call for law enforcement to “take the guns first and go through due process second,” 15 states and the District of Columbia have passed these communist “red flag” laws, and THOUSANDS of innocent Americans, who did not commit a crime, did not threaten to commit a crime, were not accused of committing a crime—and without a hearing, without a trial and without any constitutional due process—have ALREADY had their guns CONFISCATED by police. And who is the chief promoter of these unconstitutional gun confiscations? President Donald Trump.

10. Trump promised to make America great.

But since taking office, Donald Trump has done everything he can, not to make America great, but to make Israel great.  

After Trump was elected, I predicted:

2017 will see a tsunami of Zionistic thought and theology immersing the church. Ultra-Zionists in Congress such as John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and Ted Cruz are preparing to launch a fresh Israel-First political campaign like this country has never seen. And I predict that Donald Trump will likewise launch his own Israel-First campaign from the White House. (Source)

Then again, should we expect anything different? Secretary of State and former CIA Director Mike Pompeo admitted (gleefully) that “we [he and President Trump by the inferred chain of command] lie, cheat and steal.” He went on to say, “We [have] entire training courses cheat and steal.” Of course, Pompeo claims to be an ardent Christian. BARF!

From what I can tell, an Internet blogger by the name of Fred Reed is a sarcastic skeptic when it comes to religion. And I certainly do NOT share many of his sentiments and statements (and I wouldn’t use his language). However, he wrote a blog entitled Christians Who Hate, specifically pointing to Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo. And I have to tell you, the bulk of what he said in this blog is spot-on. And, truth be told, if I wasn’t already a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ—and I had to judge Christ and Christianity by the likes of Mike Pompeo, Mike Pence, GW Bush, Robert Jeffress, John Hagee and Jerry Falwell Jr.—I would probably be a sarcastic skeptic too.

The point of all of this is: Donald Trump is a pathological liar, and anyone who still believes a word he says is gullible beyond belief. The greater problem is, this man’s deceit and duplicity has the potential to plunge America into World War III and the mother of all depressions—not to mention a Police State to rival Mao’s China.

I’m not faulting anyone who voted for Donald Trump. You couldn’t stomach Hillary Clinton (neither can I). He told you what you wanted to hear. And you believed him. What else could you do? But there is absolutely no excuse—NONE—for continuing to believe this total phony after over two years of his myriad and continual lies and deceptions.

Sooner or later, conservatives and Christians are going to wake up to the fact that Donald Trump is the consummate corrupt CON MAN. My fear is that they will not wake up in time for America to be spared from what this fraud is about to rain down upon the world.

Donald Trump: Israel’s Whore in the White House

The arrival of Donald Trump in the White House two-and-a-half years ago has emboldened Israel as never before, leaving it free to unleash new waves of brutality in the occupied territories.

Recent events have shone a spotlight not only on how Israel is intensifying its abuse of Palestinians under its rule, but the utterly depraved complicity of western governments in its actions.

 

Western states have not only turned a blind eye to these outrages, but are actively assisting in silencing anyone who dares to speak out.

It is rapidly creating a vicious spiral: the more Israel violates international law, the more the West represses criticism, the more Israel luxuriates in its impunity.

 

This shameless descent was starkly illustrated last week when hundreds of heavily armed Israeli soldiers, many of them masked, raided a neighbourhood of Sur Baher, on the edges of Jerusalem. Explosives and bulldozers destroyed dozens of homes, leaving many hundreds of Palestinians without a roof over their heads.

During the operation, extreme force was used against residents, as well as international volunteers there in the forlorn hope that their presence would deter violence. Videos showed the soldiers cheering and celebrating as they razed the neighbourhood.

House destructions have long been an ugly staple of Israel’s belligerent occupation, but there were grounds for extra alarm on this occasion.

Traditionally, demolitions occur on the two-thirds of the West Bank placed by the Oslo accords temporarily under Israeli control. That is bad enough: Israel should have handed over what is called “Area C” to the Palestinian Authority 20 years ago. Instead, it has hounded Palestinians off these areas to free them up for illegal Jewish settlement.

But the Sur Baher demolitions took place in “Area A”, land assigned by Oslo to the Palestinians’ government-in-waiting – as a prelude to Palestinian statehood. Israel is supposed to have zero planning or security jurisdiction there.

Palestinians rightly fear that Israel has established a dangerous precedent, further reversing the Oslo Accords, which can one day be used to justify driving many thousands more Palestinians off land under PA control.

Most western governments barely raised their voices. Even the United Nations offered a mealy-mouthed expression of “sadness” at what took place.

A few kilometres north, in Issawiya, another East Jerusalem suburb, Israeli soldiers have been terrorising 20,000 Palestinian residents for weeks. They have set up checkpoints, carried out dozens of random night-time arrests, imposed arbitrary fines and traffic tickets, and shot live ammunition and rubber-coated steel bullets into residential areas.

Ir Amim, an Israeli human rights group, calls Issawiya’s treatment a “perpetual state of collective punishment” – that is, a war crime.

Over in Gaza, not only are the 2 million inhabitants being slowly starved by Israel’s 12-year blockade, but a weekly shooting spree against Palestinians who protest at the fence imprisoning them has become so routine it barely attracts attention any more.

On Friday, Israeli snipers killed one protester and seriously injured 56, including 22 children.

 

That followed new revelations that Israeli’s policy of shooting unarmed protesters in the upper leg to injure them – another war crime – continued long after it became clear a significant proportion of Palestinians were dying from their wounds.

 

Belatedly – after more than 200 deaths and the severe disabling of many thousands of Palestinians – snipers have been advised to “ease up” by shooting protesters in the ankle.

B’Tselem, another Israeli rights organisation, called the army’s open-fire regulation a “criminal policy”, one that “consciously chose not to regard those standing on the other side of the fence as humans”.

Rather than end such criminal practices, Israel prefers to conceal them. It has effectively sealed Palestinian areas off to avoid scrutiny.

Omar Shakir, a researcher for Human Rights Watch, is facing imminent deportation, yet more evidence of Israel’s growing crackdown on the human rights community.

A report by the Palestinian Right to Enter campaign last week warned that Israel is systematically denying foreign nationals permits to live and work in the occupied territories, including areas supposedly under PA control.

That affects both foreign-born Palestinians, often those marrying local Palestinians, and internationals. According to recent reports, Israel is actively forcing out academics teaching at the West Bank’s leading university, Bir Zeit, in a severe blow to Palestinian academic freedom.

Palestinian journalists highlighting Israeli crimes are in Israel’s sights too. Last week, Israel stripped one – Mustafa Al Haruf – of his Jerusalem residency, tearing him from his wife and young child. Because it is illegal to leave someone stateless, Israel is now bullying Jordan to accept him.

Another exclusion policy – denying entry to Israel’s fiercest critics, those who back the international boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement – is facing its first challenge.

Two US congresswomen who support BDS – Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, who has family in the West Bank – have announced plans to visit.

Israeli officials have indicated they will exempt them both, apparently fearful of drawing wider attention to Israel’s draconian entry restrictions, which also cover the occupied territories.

Israel is probably being overly cautious. The BDS movement, which alone argues for the imposition of penalties on Israel until it halts its abuse of Palestinians, is being bludgeoned by western governments.

In the US and Europe, strong criticism of Israel, even from Jews – let alone demands for meaningful action – is being conflated with antisemitism. Much of this furore seems intended to ease the path towards silencing Israel’s critics.

More than two dozen US states, as well as the Senate, have passed laws – drafted by pro-Israel lobby groups – to limit the rights of the American public to support boycotts of Israel.

Anti-BDS legislation has also been passed by the German and French parliaments.

And last week the US House of Representatives joined them, overwhelmingly passing a resolution condemning the BDS movement. Only 17 legislators demurred.

It was a slap in the face to Omar, who has been promoting a bill designed to uphold the First Amendment rights of boycott supporters.

It seems absurd that these curbs on free speech have emerged just as Israel makes clear it has no interest in peace, will never concede Palestinian statehood and is entrenching a permanent system of apartheid in the occupied territories.

But there should be no surprise. The clampdown is further evidence that western support for Israel is indeed based on shared values – those that treat the Palestinians as lesser beings, whose rights can be trampled at will.

Trump Admits His Mideast Policy Guided by Israeli, not American, Interests

 

Trump has now publicly admitted that – when it comes to U.S. military involvement

and covert intervention in the Middle East – he is putting Israel, not America, first.

WASHINGTON — In a recent interview with the Washington Post, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly stated that his administration’s Middle East policy – including the illegal U.S. military occupation of nearly a third of Syria, the administration’s adoption of aggressive Iranian sanctions, and Trump’s response to murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi —  is not driven by his country’s interest in oil but instead to benefit the interests of the state of Israel.

Trump made the comment when asked by Post reporter Josh Dawsey about whether or not he supports tougher sanctions against the Saudi government for allegedly being responsible for the death of Khashoggi in early October. Trump responded by stating that he would “listen” to those calling for increased sanctions and then adding that the Middle East is a “dangerous, rough part of the world.” Trump continued, stating that Saudi Arabia has been a “great ally,” adding that “without them, Israel would be in a lot more trouble. We need to have a counterbalance to Iran.”

Trump’s statements here seem to support the claims made in recent reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was responsible for Trump’s decision to stand by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) during the fall-out from Khashoggi’s death, which several governments and U.S. intelligence have claimed was planned in advance with MBS’ approval. Netanyahu told the White House that MBS was a “strategic ally” and should be supported regardless of his alleged involvement in the death of the former Post columnist at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

However, as Trump continued to discuss the region, he revealed that Israel is not just the

reason for his continued support for the Saudi government despite the fallout from Khashoggi’s death but also the reason why the U.S. continues to be so heavily involved in the region. He stated:

In this statement, Trump makes the case that the U.S. national interest in Middle Eastern affairs is weakening, as oil – traditionally cited for the U.S.’ long history of intervention throughout the region – is no longer a major factor in guiding his administration’s policy in this geostrategic area of the world. As Trump notes, the U.S. is currently producing a record amount of oil domestically and is likely to continue its rapid increase until production is estimated to peak in 2025.

Instead, Trump states that the driving reason for the U.S. continuing intervention in the region is the state of Israel. Though Trump’s actions since he came into office have been markedly pro-Israel, this statement is the first public admission that his administration’s Middle East policy – such as the continuing military occupation of Syria, its aggressive stance towards Iran, and preservation of ties with Saudi Arabia at all costs, among others – is guided by the interests not of the United States but a foreign nation. Given that Trump was elected in large part due to his promise to put “America First,” his claim that the U.S.’ entire Middle East policy is guided by the national interests of another country is telling.

Yet, for those that have closely followed the actions of the Trump administration in the Middle East, it has been clear for some time that most, if not all, of the administration’s policies have been carried out with Israel in mind.

For instance, the U.S.’ continued occupation of Syria is of great benefit to Israel, as Israel — which helped plan and execute the now winding-down Syrian conflict — had hoped to use the resulting instability in Syria to push for the country’s partition. Israel’s push for the partition of Syria is aimed at a broader, regional plan that would see Israel expand well beyond that territory in order to more widely exert its influence and become the region’s “superpower.”

This ambition is described in the Yinon Plan, a strategy intended to ensure Israel’s regional superiority in the Middle East that chiefly involves reconfiguring the entire Arab world into smaller and weaker sectarian states. This has manifested in Israel’s support for the partition of Iraq as well as Syria, particularly its support for the establishment of a separatist Kurdish state within these two nations. Currently, the U.S. is occupying the area for this potential future state and supports the Kurdish separatist militia group known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Though some reports released on Wednesday have now claimed that the U.S. troops in Syria will soon be withdrawn due to the end of Washington’s bombing campaign against ISIS, the Trump administration shifted its Syria policy away from combating ISIS to containing Iran — a move promoted first by the Israeli government, which has long used alleged “Iranian influence” to justify hundreds of unilateral airstrikes within Syrian territory.

If U.S. troops do leave northeastern Syria, the U.S. military occupation of northeastern Syria may end, but the administration’s policy on containing Iran in Syria through other means would still be operational.

Indeed, NBC News reported in October that the administration was developing a “new” Syria policy that would forgo a U.S. military presence in the country and would instead “emphasize political and diplomatic efforts to force Iran out of Syria by squeezing it financially,” and would “withhold reconstruction aid from areas where Iranian and Russian forces are present” in addition to imposing “sanctions on Russian and Iranian companies working on reconstruction in Syria.”

In addition, the Trump administration’s withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and its unilateral reimposition of sanctions on Iran were also carried out with Israel’s interests in mind, given that the move was pushed by both Netanyahu and Trump’s most influential donor, Zionist billionaire Sheldon Adelson, who is also the owner of Israel’s largest newspaper and Netanyahu’s largest financier.

Past reports have shown that Adelson’s influence also pushed Trump to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and to replace former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster with John Bolton, a pro-Israel Iran hawk with a well-known penchant for war.

After his recent statements, Trump has now publicly admitted that – when it comes to U.S. military involvement and covert intervention in the Middle East – he is putting Israel, not America, first. This should serve as a stark warning to all Americans, particularly given that just last year a top U.S. commander stated that U.S. troops were “ready to die” to defend Israel for whatever reason, and that the deployment of U.S. troops to Israel would be made not by the American military but by the Israel Defense Forces.

(JTA) — American Jews are watching the beginning of Donald Trump’s presidency with both fear and hope.

 

Many have expressed worries about some of his supporters’ ties to the so-called “alt-right” movement, whose followers traffic variously in white nationalism, anti-immigration sentiment, anti-Semitism and a disdain for “political correctness.” Those fears intensified when Trump named as his chief strategist Stephen Bannon, the former chairman of Breitbart News, a site Bannon once referred to as a “platform” of the alt-right. Trump’s strongly conservative Cabinet picks also back policies on health care, the environment, abortion and civil rights often diametrically opposed to the views of most Jewish voters.

 

Yet others have praised Trump’s stance on Israel and his nomination of David Friedman, a bankruptcy lawyer who supports West Bank settlement construction and has expressed doubts about the two-state solution, as U.S. ambassador to Israel. Trump won 24 percent of the Jewish vote, with especially strong support in the Orthodox community.

 

Here is a look at the president’s Jewish advisers who will be helping to shape U.S. policy for the next four years.

 

Jared Kushner

Trump’s Orthodox son-in law is serving as a senior adviser to the president. Kushner, the 36-year-old scion of a prominent real estate family from New Jersey, will not receive a salary and will focus on the Middle East and Israel as well as partnerships with the private sector and free trade, according to The New York Times. A day before his appointment was announced, Kushner said he would step down from his role as CEO of his family firm, Kushner Properties.

 

Kushner, who married Trump’s daughter Ivanka in 2009, played a crucial role in the president’s campaign, especially on Israel. He worked on Trump’s speech to the AIPAC annual policy conference that earned the real estate mogul a standing ovation, and helped plan a trip to Israel for his father-in-law last year. (Trump canceled the trip after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed his call to ban Muslim immigration to the United States.)

 

Trump appears to be smitten with Kushner, often referring to his “fantastic” son-in-law when boasting of his pro-Israel credentials.

 

Kushner may have become a household name during the campaign, but he’s no stranger to the limelight. In 2006, at 25, he bought the New York Observer newspaper. Two years later he became CEO of Kushner Properties, four years after his father was sent to jail for tax evasion, illegal campaign donations and witness tampering. In 2015, Fortune named Kushner to its 40 Under 40 list, an “annual ranking of the most influential young people in business.”

Friedman, a bankruptcy expert and longtime Trump attorney, was tapped as the U.S. ambassador to Israel. A statement by Trump’s transition team in December said Friedman, who speaks Hebrew, would serve from Jerusalem, but White House press secretary Sean Spicer said last week that Trump had yet to decide on moving the embassy from Tel Aviv.

 

Friedman, who is in his late 50s, is the son of a Conservative rabbi with a family history of ties to Republican presidential candidates — his family hosted Ronald Reagan for a Shabbat lunch in 1984, the year he won re-election. He lives in Woodmere, New York, in the largely Jewish area known as the Five Towns, and owns a home in Jerusalem’s Talbiya neighborhood, according to Haaretz.

 

Friedman has expressed support for and funded construction in Israeli settlements, and has expressed doubt about the future of the two-state solution, traditionally a pillar of bipartisan U.S. policy in the region.

 

Some of his controversial statements — including slamming backers of the liberal Israel advocacy group J Street as “far worse than kapos” and charging President Barack Obama with “blatant anti-Semitism” — have sparked outrage from liberal groups.

 

Jason Greenblatt

Greenblatt, the longtime chief legal officer for the Trump Organization, is working as special representative for international negotiations focusing on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, U.S.-Cuba relations and American trade agreements with other countries. An Orthodox Jew and Yeshiva University graduate, Greenblatt studied at a West Bank yeshiva in the mid-1980s and did armed guard duty there.

 

A father of six from Teaneck, New Jersey, Greenblatt said he speaks with people involved in the Israeli government but has not spoken to any Palestinians since his yeshiva studies. He has cited the American Israel Public Affairs Committee as one of his main sources for staying informed about the Jewish state, and helped draft Trump’s speech at the lobbying group’s annual conference in March.

 

Greenblatt, who has said he supports the two-state solution, has implied that Trump will take a laissez-faire approach to peace building.

 

“He is not going to impose any solution on Israel,” Greenblatt told Israel’s Army Radio in November. He also said that Trump “does not view Jewish settlements as an obstacle to peace.”

 

Steven Mnuchin

Trump picked Mnuchin, a former Goldman Sachs executive who worked as Trump’s national finance chairman during the campaign, to serve as Treasury secretary.

 

Trump and Mnuchin have been friends for 15 years, and prior to being in charge of Trump’s campaign finances, Mnuchin, 54, served as an adviser. Part of what The New York Times describes as one of Manhattan’s “most influential families,” Mnuchin and his father — the prominent art dealer Robert Mnuchin — both became wealthy working at Goldman Sachs. The younger Mnuchin also co-founded the entertainment company RatPac-Dune Entertainment, which has worked on such Hollywood hits as “Avatar” and “Black Swan.”

 

Some saw Trump teaming up with Mnuchin as unusual, considering that the real-estate mogul had consistently bashed Goldman Sachs during his campaign — but it doesn’t seem to have hindered a good working relationship.

 

Stephen Miller

Trump named Miller, who has played a crucial role in his campaign by writing speeches and warming up crowds at rallies, as senior adviser for policy.

 

Miller, who has described himself as “a practicing Jew,” joined the Trump campaign in early 2016, quickly rising through the ranks to become “one of the most important people in the campaign,” as Trump’s campaign manager told The Wall Street Journal.

 

Previously the 31-year-old worked for seven years as an aide to Trump’s choice for attorney general, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., helping the lawmaker draft materials to kill a bipartisan Senate immigration reform bill. Some of Sessions’ arguments are similar to the harsh and often controversial statements by Trump on the issue, such as calling for building a wall on the Mexican border and banning Muslim immigration to the U.S.

 

Though Miller grew up in a liberal Jewish home in Southern California, he was drawn to conservative causes early. As a high school student he wrote a letter to the editor of a local paper in which he slammed his school for providing free condoms to students and for making announcements both in English and Spanish, among other things.

 

Carl Icahn

Icahn, a businessman and investor, is serving as a special adviser on regulatory reform issues. He is working as a private citizen rather than a federal employee or special government employee.

 

An early supporter of Trump’s candidacy, Icahn, 80, is the founder of Icahn Enterprises, a diversified conglomerate based in New York City formerly known as American Real Estate Partners. He has also held substantial or controlling positions in numerous American companies over the years, including RJR Nabisco, Texaco, Philips Petroleum, Western Union, Gulf & Western, Viacom, Revlon, Time Warner, Motorola, Chesapeake Energy, Dell, Netflix, Apple and eBay.

 

Icahn is a major giver to Mount Sinai hospital in New York City, among other philanthropic endeavors. In 2012, he donated $200 million to the renamed Icahn School of Medicine there.

 

In addition, Icahn established seven Icahn Charter Schools in the Bronx borough of New York.

 

Gary Cohn

Cohn, the outgoing president and chief operating officer at Goldman Sachs, heads the White House National Economic Council. At Goldman Sachs, where he had worked since 1990, Cohn answered to CEO Lloyd Blankfein and was considered a strong candidate to lead the bank.

 

The 56-year-old father of three has a reputation for abrasiveness, but also for getting things done, according to a Wall Street Journal profile last year. In a 2014 New York Times op-ed, Goldman Sachs executive Greg Smith wrote on the day he resigned that Blankfein and Cohn were responsible for a “decline in the firm’s moral fiber” that placed its interests above those of its clients.

 

Cohn, a Cleveland native, in 2009 funded the Cohn Jewish Student Center at Kent State University named for his parents.

 

Success wasn’t always obvious for Cohn, whose struggle with dyslexia made school difficult for him. But the Goldman Sachs banker, who was featured in a book on underdogs by writer Malcolm Gladwell, told the author that his learning disability also taught him how to deal with failure and that “I wouldn’t be where I am today without my dyslexia.”

 

Boris Epshteyn

Epshteyn, a Republican political strategist who appeared as a Trump surrogate on TV, is working as a special assistant to the president. Epshteyn, who is in his mid-30s, also is serving as assistant communications director for surrogate operations.

 

A New York-based investment banker and finance attorney, Epshteyn was a communications aide for Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign in 2008, focusing his efforts on the Arizona senator’s running mate, then-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

 

He defended Trump on major TV networks over 100 times, according to The New York Times. TV hosts have described Epshteyn, who moved to the United States from his native Moscow in 1993, as “very combative” and “abrasive.”

 

In 2014, he was charged with misdemeanor assault after being involved in a bar tussle. The charge was dropped after Epshteyn agreed to undergo anger management training and perform community service.

 

David Shulkin

Dr. David Shulkin, the undersecretary for health at the Department of Veterans Affairs, will lead the department as secretary under Trump if confirmed by the Senate. He would be the first holdover appointment from the Obama administration, in which he served since 2015.

 

Shulkin, 57, is an internist who has had several chief executive roles, including as president of hospitals, notably Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. He also has held numerous physician leadership roles, including as chief medical officer for the University of Pennsylvania Health System, and academic positions, including as chairman of medicine and vice dean at the Drexel University School of Medicine.

 

As an entrepreneur, Shulkin founded and served as the chairman and CEO of DoctorQuality, one of the first consumer-oriented sources of information for quality and safety in health care.

 

Reed Cordish

Trump chose Cordish, who is friends with his son-in-law Jared Kushner, to serve as assistant to the president for intragovernmental and technology initiatives. He will be responsible for initiatives requiring multi-agency collaboration and also focus on technological innovation and modernization.

 

Cordish is a partner at his family’s real estate and entertainment firm, the Baltimore-based Cordish Companies, .

 

Cordish’s father, David, the chairman and CEO of The Cordish Companies and an AIPAC board member, is a friend of Trump. The two met during the mediation process of a lawsuit in which Trump sued The Cordish Companies.

 

And Cordish, who is in his early 40s, has another connection to the Trump family — he was introduced to his now-wife Margaret by none other than Ivanka Trump, who attended the couple’s wedding in 2010 with husband Jared Kushner. Cordish and his wife were listed as co-hosts for a Manhattan fundraiser for Trump’s presidential campaign in October, Jewish Insider reported.

 

Avrahm Berkowitz

Berkowitz, 27, is serving as special assistant to Trump and assistant to Jared Kushner. Berkowitz and Kushner met on the basketball court of an Arizona hotel during a Passover program, Jewish Insider reported. The two stayed in touch and Berkowitz went on to work with Kushner in several capacities.

 

After graduating from Queens College, Berkowitz worked for Kushner Companies and later went on to write for Kushner’s paper, the New York Observer. In 2016 Berkowitz, who was then finishing up his last semester at Harvard Law School, directed a Facebook Live talk show for the Trump campaign. Later he worked on the presidential campaign as assistant director of data analytics.

 

Berkowitz’s first cousin is Howard Friedman, who served as AIPAC president in 2006-2010, according to Jewish Insider.

Trump signed secret pledge to safeguard Israeli nukes — report

According to New Yorker, Israeli envoy Dermer raised US ire in seeking assurances on program;

‘This is our f*ckin’ house,’ White House official reportedly said in disapproval

US President Donald Trump has reportedly signed a secret letter pledging

not to strong-arm the Jewish state into relinquishing its nuclear weapons.

The US president’s backing came after Israel’s ambassador to the United States

reportedly pressured the administration last year, raising the ire of American officials.

The rare moment of tension between the Israeli government and Trump White House in February 2017 came a month after

Trump entered office and was said to devolve into yelling and profanity, according to a report by The New Yorker on Monday. 

“This is our fuckin’ house,” an unnamed US official was quoted saying in response to Ron Dermer’s demands.

According to the report, Israel was looking for the fledgling Trump administration to sign off on an understanding

first reached between prime minister Golda Meir and US president Richard Nixon, whereby Israel would neither

declare, test or threaten to use nuclear weapons in exchange for the US not pushing Israel to join the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.

Although the oral agreement continued to be honored through the Reagan administration, Israel grew concerned

over whether the unwritten deal would hold during the presidency of George H.W. Bush, after calls by the US

leadership for the Middle East to be free of weapons of mass destruction in the wake of the 1991 Gulf War.

Following Bill Clinton’s election as president, the US signed the first such letter in exchange for Israel’s

participation in the 1998 Wye River peace talks with the Palestinians, with Clinton pledging any US-led

nonproliferation efforts would not “detract” from Israel’s “deterrent,” a reference to Israel’s nuclear program, the New Yorker reported.

While foreign sources have estimated Israel has an arsenal of dozens to hundreds of nuclear weapons,

Israel has neither publicly confirmed or denied such reports in keeping with its policy of so-called nuclear ambiguity.

The report said Israel later added to the covert document a clause saying that the Jewish state would

“defend itself, by itself,” meaning it did not require the US nuclear umbrella in light of its own arsenal.

Similar letters were later signed by US presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, the report said,

despite the latter initially sparking concern in Israel after voicing support for a nuclear weapons-free world.

Shortly after US President Donald Trump’s inauguration, Israel’s Ambassador to the US Dermer came to the White House

to discuss adding Trump’s signature to the letter in talks with former national security adviser Michael Flynn, the report said.

Unbeknownst to Dermer, Flynn would resign later that day for lying to Vice President

Mike Pence over his contacts with the Russian ambassador.

Trump aides were caught off guard by Dermer’s request and told him they needed some time to study the issue,

suggesting it was unclear whether Obama administration officials talked about the Israeli letter with their successors.

Furthermore, Israel’s desire to minimize the number of officials who took part in conversations about the letter rankled US officials,

who felt Dermer was behaving as if he was in charge, according to the report.

“This is our fuckin’ house,” a US official was quoted as telling Dermer.

The feeling in the White House, added a former aide, was that “there is a lot of good will, but don’t take advantage of us.”

Despite the initial tensions, Trump would go on to sign the letter, the report said.

Although Israel saw the letters as guaranteeing the US would not pressure Israel on its nuclear arms, US officials said the document was not unequivocal in its language.

“It was not a blanket ‘We’ll never ask Israel to give up its nuclear weapons.’ It was more,

‘We accepted the Israeli argument that they’re not going to disarm under current conditions in the Middle East,” the New Yorker quoted a former US official as saying.
