How many of these war millionaires shouldered a rifle? How many of them dug a trench? How many of them knew what it meant to go hungry in a rat-infested dug-out? How many of them spent sleepless, frightened nights, ducking shells and shrapnel and machine gun bullets? How many of them parried a bayonet thrust of an enemy? How many of them were wounded or killed in battle?
Out of war nations acquire additional territory, if they are victorious. They just take it. This newly acquired territory promptly is exploited by the few -- the selfsame few who wrung dollars out of blood in the war. The general public shoulders the bill.

Elizabeth Dilling was the most famous “mother” of the 1930s and ’40s. An adamant Christian since her youth, her friends expected her to be an evangelist. She studied at the University of Chicago and became a housewife after marriage. Her husband did well financially as a lawyer, but was repeatedly unfaithful. During one early affair, Dilling and her mother drove to the woman’s house, “shattered the front window with a bullet, forced their way in at gunpoint, [and] warned the woman to stop seeing Albert,” who later gave his wife $100,000 to not divorce him.
Dilling and her husband traveled extensively. A month-long tour of the Soviet Union in 1931 made her adamantly opposed to communism, particularly its rejection of Christianity, and she vowed to speak out against it when she returned to the U.S. In Palestine in 1938, she filmed Jewish immigrants “ruining” the Holy Land, and thought England had betrayed the Arabs by allowing the Jews to steal their land. It is reported that the German government paid Dilling’s expenses on her second trip to Germany, where she attended Nazi party meetings. She found that “the German people under Hitler are contented and happy. . . . don’t believe the stories you hear that this man has not done a great good for this country.”
Dilling took two trips to Spain, where Francisco Franco’s officers allowed her to visit the front and take video and photographs of “churches ruined by the Reds with the same satanic Jewish glee shown in Russia.” When she returned to the U.S., Dilling gave film and slide presentations of her footage to women’s groups.
Dilling had a healthy interpretation of Christianity, in that she viewed it not as a faith of meekness, but one of fighting. She believed that Jesus had commanded Christians to fight infidels and quoted Matt. 10:34: “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I come not to send peace, but a sword.” She spoke of “Satan’s Red pits of Bolshevism disguised as humanitarianism” and how Christians were vulnerable to humanist propaganda.

Other Losses caused an international scandal
when first published
in 1989 by revealing that Allied Supreme Commander Dwight Eisenhower’s policies caused the death of some 1,000,000 German captives in American and French internment camps through
disease, starvation and exposure from 1944 to 1949, as a direct result of the policies of the western Allies, who, with the Soviets, ruled as the Military Occupation Government over partitioned Germany from May 1945 until 1949. An attempted book-length disputation of Other Losses, was published in 1992, featuring essays by British, American
and German revisionist historians (Eisenhower and the German POWs: Facts Against Falsehood, edited by Ambrose & Günter). However, that same year Bacque
flew to Moscow
to examine the newly-opened KGB archives, where he found meticulously and exhaustively documented new proof that almost one million German POWs had indeed died in those
Western camps. One of the historians who supports Bacque’s work is Colonel Ernest F. Fisher, 101st Airborne Division, who in 1945
took part in investigations into allegations of misconduct by U.S. troops in Germany and later became a senior historian with the United States Army.
In the foreword to the book he states: “Starting in April 1945, the United States Army and the French Army casually annihilated about one million [German]
men, most of them
in American camps … Eisenhower’s hatred, passed through the lens of a compliant military bureaucracy, produced
the horror of death camps unequalled by anything in American military history … How did this enormous war crime come to light? The first clues
were uncovered in 1986 by the author James Bacque and his assistant.” This updated third edition of Other Losses exists not to accuse, but to remind us that no country can claim an inherent innocence of or exemption from the cruelties of war. _______________________________________ Crimes and Mercies: the Fate of German Civilians under Allied Occupation, 1945-1950 recounts how the allies deliberately denied food to Germans after World War Two, expelled ethnic Germans from their homes in the east, and plundered their industries, resulting in millions of civilian deaths.
However in 1946, concerned Americans and Canadians, under Herbert Hoover and Mackenzie King began to relieve the starvation with a food aid program which late in 1946 was extended to include the German people. diplomatic posts in Vienna, Budapest and Washington and later in the 1920s was a diplomatic agent in multiple nations across Eastern Europe. In 1932, he negotiated with the Soviet Union for a non-agression
pact with Romania but failed. As a nationalist conservative, Sturdza joined
Corneliu Codreanu's Legionary Movement. Due to these relations, he became the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania during the National Legionary State from September 14, 1940 to
January 26, 1941 (although he was removed from this position by Ion Antonescu). While he worked for the Legionary State, he took part in making deals with Axis Nations, especially with the Third Reich.
After Antonescu's coup which took down the Legionaries, Sturdza went with
Horia Sima into exile, traveling across various European nations. He was
briefly the Minister of Foreign Affairs again in Sima's Vienna government in 1944-45. After the end of World War II, he fled to Spain and finally to the United States, where he published his memoirs in
1968, a notable book titled The Suicide of Europe. Sturdza was the closest thing to a "fly on the wall" while taking part in diplomatic missions prior to, during and after WWII. Part political history, part intellectual history, Rose Martin’s Fabian Freeway traces the influence of the British Fabian Society in promoting socialism in Britain, beginning in the 1880s. The group favored gradual progress toward socialism rather than violent revolution; and it proved to be a major force in promoting British collectivism. Its influence extended to America as well, where like-minded organizations and persons enhanced its effects. Martin emphasizes Fabian influences on Wilson and FDR, and continues the discussion through the 1960’s, when the book originally appeared.
When the British Fabian Society was first founded, its members, echoing Marx’s own views, believed that socialism could only be introduced to Britain and the United States through a strategy of very gradual change disguised as reform.
Some Fabians suspected that the United States might never adopt the tenets of true socialism.
Less than 150 years, later, however, the Fabian strategy has been enormously successful. Both Britain and the United States are heavily regulated and heavily taxed societies with highly socialized economies where government agents exercise vast control over the movement of capital and currency through an enormous bureaucratic apparatus.
In the original Foreword, Loyd Wright, writing in the midst of the Cold War, discusses Fabian Socialism as “Communism’s helpmate,” and he portrays the ideology as a sort of friendly-looking version of socialism that will nevertheless end up looking very much like Soviet-style communism.
Since the end of the Cold War, however, we find that Fabian Socialism is far more dangerous than revolutionary communism. Highly attractive to so-called “reasonable” and “moderate” people, and compatible with the ideologies of so many center-left and center-right political parties, Fabian Socialism, unlike soviet-style communism, has exhibited a staying-power already shown to be much stronger than anything revolutionary communism has yet produced.
